On April 17, 2026 we celebrate the opening with the presentation of this year's honorary award to the actress NUR SÜRER in the Schauspielhaus of the Münchner Kammerspiele.

The plot of this classic film is based on the book of the same name by Feride Çiçekoğlu and sensitively tells the story of the special relationship between a woman and a child under extreme conditions.
From the perspective of five-year-old Barış, we experience the harsh everyday life in a Turkish women's prison in the 1980s, where the boy lives together with his imprisoned mother. In this environment, an intense friendship unexpectedly develops with the warm-hearted fellow inmate İnci. Nur Sürer plays the role of a political prisoner in the aftermath of the 1980 military coup, who retains her humanity despite all the circumstances. To this day, she is considered one of the strongest female characters in Turkish film history.
The film will be shown in a 4K-restored version.

Hikâye, annesiyle birlikte 1980'li yılların Türkiye'sindeki bir kadın cezaevinde yaşayan beş yaşındaki Barış'ın gözünden aktarılır. Hapishanenin sert gerçekliği içinde Barış ile sıcak kalpli mahkûm İnci arasında beklenmedik bir dostluk filizlenir. Nur Sürer'in büyük bir ustalıkla canlandırdığı, 1980 askerî darbesi sonrasında tutuklanan politik mahkûm İnci, tüm baskılara rağmen insanlığını ve merhametini koruyan güçlü bir kadın figürü olarak öne çıkar. Bu karakter, Türk sinema tarihinin en unutulmaz kadın portrelerinden biri olarak kabul edilir.
