Lisa StreichIshjärta
Music Award Winner: In Concert
Amy Beach: Galic Symphony in E-flat minor, Op. 32

Soloist:2026 OsnabrückMusic Prize Winner
Conductor: Daniela Musca

Fragile beauty, the joy of discovery, and artistic passion define this concert evening. Lisa Streich’s *Ishjärta* is a work of fragile beauty and quiet intensity. The title *Ishjärta* (Ice Heart) plays with contrasts: cold and life, stillness and movement. In her musical language, Streich combines mechanics and emotion, poetry and precision. At the heart of the program is a work for the recipient of the Osnabrück Music Prize, who will be announced by the Board of Trustees in September/October 2026. Amy Beach’s *Gaelic Symphony* marks the first symphony composed by an American woman. Composed in 1896, it combines Celtic-inspired melodies with late-Romantic expressiveness and luminous orchestral color. Daniela Musca will take the podium in Osnabrück for the first time and, with her subtle sense of sonic balance, promises an evening full of curiosity and intensity.

Dear concertgoers,

The Osnabrück Music Prize has been an important cultural highlight of the city of Osnabrück for decades. After the Felicitas and Werner Egerland Foundation withdrew its support following a long period of involvement, we—as representatives of three religious communities—have decided to make this prize possible for another year.

On the one hand, it is important to us to actively support musical and cultural life, and we are delighted to accompany young artists on their journey. On the other hand, it is also important to us to inspire young people’s enthusiasm for music through the subsequent concert for young audiences featuring the award winner. We believe that music and culture are vital components of our society and strengthen fundamental skills such as empathy and cooperation.

In this spirit, we feel connected to one another and wish to contribute to Osnabrück as a City of Peace.

Sponsored by the Diocese of Osnabrück, the Evangelical Lutheran Kirschenkreis, and the Jewish Community of Osnabrück K.d.ö.R.

In cooperation with the Osnabrück Music Prize and NDR Kultur
