Luca no longer wants to live alone. At her flat-share casting, applicants trudge into the kitchen with their backpacks full of life concepts. Music studies clash with meditation time, idealism with comfort, a sense of community with the unconditional right to the last oat milk. The fragile order is quickly shaken. The kitchen microcosm becomes a testing ground for social issues. It's not just about rent and peace and quiet, but also about expectations and solidarity. Can everything be shared? What is fair? And for which community is it worth giving up a bit of freedom?
Between improvised shared flat democracy and silent power games, 583 EURO WARM searches for principles for functioning interpersonal relationships in the age of individualism and self-care. The newly founded community tries to do things better inside than out there. But as we all know, in the safety of a tight circle of warmth, the danger of leaving thinking to the group lurks. How do you get both under one roof?
583 EURO WARM is a plea for friction and for the struggle for democratic mini-societies that remain critical and resist the rise of fascism. Who still needs community when you could just close the door? And what happens if we no longer open it?
