A. Savage comes to Germany in early 2024. After more than a decade in New York, Savage left the city and the United States with a masterpiece of maturity and a worthy follow-up to his first solo project, the 2017 album "Thawing Dawn". "This album is a burning building, and these songs are things that I would leave behind to save me." explains the artist about his album.
The intimacy of these tracks is broken by the presence of some of his closest friends, including Cate Le Bon. "It was really special to see how they were created, and then to be in the studio with him and work on them," she says.
Influenced by the disparate perspectives of Sybille Baier and Townes Van Zandt, Savage joins a canon of songwriters on this album whose project is an ever-expanding opening and perspective. This is an album whose subject is nothing less than the sublime: the moments when a sensory experience becomes its own sanctity or possession, and the self floats above it.
