Andrew Pekler
On this evening,Andrew Pekler will present his latest compositions, which were released at the end of June 2025 on the album "New Environments & Rhythm Studies" on the Berlin label faitiche, founded by Jan Jelinek in 2008.
Since 2015, Pekler has been working intensively on the exploration and deconstruction of genres such as easy listening and exotica (album "Tristes Tropiques" 2016) as well as the phenomenon of so-called phantom islands: Islands that were once found on nautical charts but have since disappeared. Based on the piece "Description of an Island", which premiered at the INA - GRM Présences Électronique festival in 2017, Pekler and cultural anthropologist Kiwi Stefanie Menrath published an interactive, multimedia online map "Phantom Islands - A Sonic Atlas"(https://andrewpekler.com/phantom-islands/), which documents the history and sounds of some of the phantom islands. Another result of this work was the concept album "Sounds From Phantom Islands", released in 2019, and a publication "Two Views Of Amami Ōshima" together with the Japanese composer Hideki Umezawa in 2020, about the Japanese island of the same name in the Pacific Ocean. 2021 saw the release of the album "Palimpsests" with Giuseppe Ielasi. In 2023, Pekler released the album "Khao Sok Extension", in which he processed and edited field recordings and video material of the flora and fauna from Khao Sok National Park in Thailand.

Hardcore Glamour
The duo Hardcore Glamour is the latest experimental project by Farah Wind and Jonas Nelder from Cologne, which made its debut in October 2025 as part of a concert at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Farah Wind is a student at the KHM and has released several self-produced electro-acoustic tracks between experimental music and avant-pop as a solo artist under the pseudonym fm.wind(https://farahwind.com/; https://fmwind.bandcamp.com/). Jonas Nelder also plays a mixture of experimental ambient, noise and drone in the formation Prager Rattler(https://rattlerkult.bandcamp.com/).
Hardcore Glamour work with digital samples, noises, synthesizers, oscillators and lots of effect devices, but also with voice/vocals and guitar. They describe their sound as a frenzy of contrasts and excitement, where raw energy meets shiny patterns. The knobs spin faster and faster, driving the rhythm of the movement. Samples intertwine with an overdriven electric guitar in resonance with fragile brass can sounds. The songs play with contrasts and create space for moments in which the underlying structure can be viewed as if under a magnifying glass. Combined with poppy hooks and melodic structures, the result is an experimental but accessible sound without losing the introspective edge of the genre.
