In 1995, something was happening in the Belgian dark underground. A goregrind band called Aborted emerged, who combined elements of death metal and grindcore in their music - or rather in their screaming combined with evil growls. The head and founder of the combo is Sven de Caluwé, who has come up with a mystical stage name in the old death and black metal manner and therefore goes by the melodic pseudonym "Gurgloroth". After many changes to the original line-up, only he remains.

This has not dampened their success and Aborted made it into the charts for the first time in 2014 with "The Necrotic Manifesto". The follow-up album "RetroGore" from 2016 and the 2018 album "Terrorvision" also achieved chart positions in Germany, Switzerland and Belgium, among other countries. The eleventh album "ManiaCult" has been announced for 2021.
