"Patrick Alexander Deventer's works sit like a membrane between two- and three-dimensionality as well as between materiality and immateriality," says art historian Juliane Rogge.

P. A. Deventer, born in 1969, constructs color-light spaces by using natural light. Precisely calculated color gradients are arranged on Plexiglas strips placed perpendicular to the surface of the picture object. The incidence of light creates a variety of overlapping colorful shadows on the matt Alu-Dibond panel. Depending on the light situation, these diffuse beyond the boundaries of the actual work into the surrounding space. This changes the appearance and effect of the work in the room depending on the (day) light situation.

In October 2021, his solo exhibition "schräg geschaut - hier und weiter" was shown for the first time at Galerie r8m. Now we are showing new works from the series "schräg geschaut" and "crashing cubes". Patrick Alexander Deventer is a member of the "Gruppe Konkret" (Bonn) and has been a member of the "Salon des Réalités Nouvelles" in Paris since 2019.
