„accordion and friends“ – musikalische Zeitreise zum Instrument des Jahres 2026

The Dortmund Cultural Foundation invites you to an extraordinary chamber concert on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 5:00 pm in the Ev. Stadtkirche St. Petri, Westenhellweg, 44137 Dortmund. Under the title "accordion and friends", Dortmund concert accordionist Ines Ariane Lydia Ringe and renowned musicians will present a varied program that focuses on the tonal possibilities of the accordion.

The concert marks a special anniversary: in 2026, the accordion was voted "Instrument of the Year" by the state music councils. At the same time, Ines Ringe looks back on the successful completion of her concert exam 20 years ago - the highest artistic qualification in music studies.

Together with Nonna Parfenov (violin), Kathrin Montero Küpper (harp), Bettina Geiger (flute) and Aglaja Camphausen (soprano), she will perform a concert evening that combines different eras, styles and instrumentations. The program is a musical journey through time and includes works that have been performed in the Petrikirche over the past two decades.

The program includes compositions by Sergej Berinski, Manuel de Falla, Darius Milhaud, Juan José Mosalini, Astor Piazzolla, Eunshin Jung and "Moondog" Louis Hardin. Solo contributions alternate with chamber music formations and demonstrate the extraordinary versatility of the accordion in combination with voice, violin, harp and flute.

The Petrikirche is a special place for Ines Ringe: She gave a concert here back in 2006 in the run-up to her concert exam and has returned regularly since then with a wide variety of programs. The concert "accordion and friends" builds on this long-standing connection and brings together companions from different stages of her musical career.
