Concert
On Friday, May 3, 2024, Nina Ogot from Kenya will join musicians from five countries and three continents for a unique musical speed dating event. The journey goes from India via Kenya to West Africa.

Nina Ogot
Nina Ogot is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and bandleader. Born and raised in Kenya's capital Nairobi, her compositions reflect her Luo heritage and that of several other Kenyan tribes. The singer incorporates western influences into her songs to create a new melodic contemporary sound that represents the current, traditionally diverse yet cosmopolitan Kenya.

Imran Khan
Imran Khan is an important sitar virtuoso who plays both classical Indian music and in various fusion projects with Western musicians .Since his childhood he has been taught by renowned Indian virtuosos such as Ustad Niyaz Ahmed Khan Sahab and Ustad Sultan Khan. Ustad Sultan Khan is known to European audiences through his collaboration with George Harrison.

Jens Pollheide
Jens Pollheide is one of the most sought-after electric bassists in the transcultural music scene in the Ruhr area, played with embryo formany years and celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Transorient Orchestra in2023.He also plays in numerous transcultural projects and various forms of improvised music.

Naim Khan
Naim Khan comes from a family of traditional Indian musicians and is the eighth generation to play the tabla .His tabla style is characterized by great clarity, and he has performed with renowned Indian musicians such as Ustad Sultan Khan, Ustad Niyaz Ahmed Khan, Raja Hassan, Sharib-Toshi, Richa Sharma, Kavita Krishnamurthy, and others.

Yavuz Duman
Yavuz Duman is a musician who effortlessly combines oriental improvisations with jazz elements.In addition to the Transorient Orchestra, Yavuz has played with Okay Temiz, Erkan Ogur and Peter Sonntag, among others.
In January 2024, Yavuz Duman and Jens Pollheide played with Imran and Naim Khan in Jodhpur.

Mama Afrika
The band Mama Afrika was founded in 1987 by Papa Malick Diouf in Senegal. Today, Mama Afrika is one of the most dazzling percussion groups in the whole of Germany.
Together they capture the hearts of audiences with their unique performances, but never lose sight of the intercultural communication of their activities to promote mutual respect and understanding. A life without music is unimaginable for them, because music is life in Africa
