During summer vacation, the event centered around the escape game “Night Watch” invites participants to immerse themselves in the fascination of the night. Game enthusiasts take on the role of a night watchman, equipped with a flashlight and a night watchman’s kit, and embark on a thrilling puzzle-solving journey through the escape game course. The program is rounded out by a family scavenger hunt in the permanent exhibition, family tours of “The Fascination of Darkness,” and the opportunity to stamp zodiac sign medallions.

Guides provide puzzle tips and explain why light and shadow have always inspired artists. Admission to the museum is free on this day.

The Fascination of Darkness: A Nighttime Walk Through the Museum

On this short nighttime walk through the ages, you’ll discover why and how painters in the past depicted the night. You’ll be amazed: at night, not everything is just dark and black! On this walk, you’ll complete three stages: from the forest at night, you’ll wander into the sleeping city and end up at a tavern after dark. During this adventure, you’ll solve exciting puzzles and answer tricky questions. Look closely and help each other out!

At the LVR State Museum in Bonn, the night watch has been canceled—and you’re stepping in. Equipped with a flashlight and a night watchman’s kit, you’ll navigate a course full of surprises. Can you solve the mysterious events before the museum reopens?

Escape Game time slots can be booked online or on-site at the museum, subject to availability. Puzzle enthusiasts of all ages and families with children ages 6 and up, max. 6 people per group, 10.00 euros

Creative Activity: Constellations and Zodiac Signs, 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Reach for the stars! Engrave your constellation onto a medallion. With a few deft strokes and small colorful beads, you’ll create sparkling mementos of your visit to the museum today.
