Alkaline Trio on tour in Germany in August with new album

Some things just never change. The video for the title track of the Alkaline Trio's new album, for example. "Blood, Hair, And Eyeballs" is set in a sunlit skate park, but there must have been something in the barbecue that turned all the people on their boards (including skate legend Steve Caballero), who are curving around the band, into zombies. The humor of the guys from Chicago seems to have remained just as reliable as their musical preferences. Melodic punk rock mixed with a hint of emo, that sparkling mixture of aggression and melancholy that has always characterized the three. The title goes back to frontman Matt Skiba's mother, who worked as an intensive care nurse and described particularly eventful nights as "Blood, Hair, And Eyeballs". This also applies to the new record, says Skiba, because this time the band developed all the songs together from the start in Dave Grohl's Studio 666 and turned them into an event. The place, which is specially set up for very loud and live music, inspired them enormously. And of course Nirvana also played a role, alongside The Police and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Bands that, like Alkaline Trio, were able to generate an unbelievable amount of energy with the three of them. You can hear this power in the new tracks. Another new feature is, of course, that the line-up has changed after more than 20 years. Last summer, drummer Derek Grant left the band, whose sound he had significantly shaped, for personal reasons and was replaced by Adam "Atom" Willard, who had previously drummed for the boys, but also for The Offspring, Angels & Airwaves, Social Distortion, Danko Jones and Against Me! With the new record, Alkaline Trio have released another milestone in their band history and are finally coming to us on tour in August.
