In April, Vinylrausch #74 on April 17th, Maundy Thursday, is dedicated to our neighbors from Austria:

Among the many new bands from the neighboring country, Bilderbuch stand out with powerful music, a challenging, consistently rocking mix of styles and an amazingly sure feeling for staging. We listen to their musical breakthrough, the album Schick Schock (2015), released ten years ago, as album of the month.

Culk, with their impressively unique singer Sophie Löw, are the next generation of Austrian musicians. Generation Maximus (2024) is serious and heavy, the mood rather dark, the music spherical. Sophisticated, haunting songs to conclude Vinylrausch #74.

At Vinylrausch, we listen to vinyl albums as works of art: from an excellent sound system, loud and concentrated in a dark movie theater room, with an introduction and song lyrics and band photos on the screen at the same time.
