The multi-award-winning pianist Anke Helfrich is one of Germany's outstanding jazz musicians. Her style combines the American jazz tradition with European influences, blues with sensuality of sound and virtuosity with the ability to tell stories. She fuses music and attitude into highly interesting projects, as in her current program "WE'LL RISE" - which is about making inspiring women and forgotten pioneers visible. One of her compositions was included in the book "New Standards: by Women Composers", published by the American Terri Lyne Carrington in 2022. Helfrich has also long been recognized internationally. She has been playing with her excellent trio for years. Bassist Dietmar Fuhr has played with countless jazz stars at home and abroad and is a lecturer at several universities. Drummer Jens Düppe is in great demand on the scene and is himself a busy bandleader and curator of creative projects. The trio has developed its own sound over the years: musical equality, freedom and trust form the basis on which the many aspects of Helfrich's compositions form an organic unity.
