From child prodigy to "queen of violin playing" - Anne-Sophie Mutter has been given many an attribute in the course of her incomparable career. For five decades, Germany's greatest international classical music star has shaped the music scene worldwide as a soloist, mentor and visionary. The repertoire of the four-time Grammy Award winner encompasses both traditional masterpieces and contemporary compositions - always in search of new tonal nuances and depths of expression.

Together with the Berlin Baroque Soloists - a top ensemble with which she has been closely associated for many years - Anne-Sophie Mutter presents an exciting program at Pro Arte in the Rosengarten to mark her 50th stage anniversary, which builds bridges: from Mozart to modern sound worlds to a very personal work by André Previn. The focus is on two works close to the violinist's heart: Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 1 in B flat major - a piece of playful elegance - and the famous Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major K. 219, the so-called "Turkish". For Anne-Sophie Mutter, this is a highlight of Mozart's oeuvre: "Here he experiments with numerous new ideas. It is the boldest, most multi-layered concerto, full of abrupt changes of mood."
