It’s the Kulturetage’s birthday, and the Lower Saxony State Association for Sociocultural Affairs is celebrating its anniversary as well. We won’t miss this opportunity to look back and look ahead. How did the Kulturetage sociocultural center come to be 40 years ago? Back then, it was called the “Culture and Communication Center”—there were already such centers in Wilhelmshaven (Pumpwerk), Osnabrück (Lagerhalle), and Hanover (Pavillon), and an alliance (Lags) was just taking shape.

 

Of course, the veterans of the theater ensemble—as the last living witnesses to that era—are in top form: They sing the founding anthem, evoke the long-buried collective yearnings and visions of a better world from those days, and… and… and.

But thanks to therapeutic interventions by the renowned trauma therapist Dr. von Abisz, we do not get bogged down in the past; instead, we venture into a critical examination of the present and the future.
