Apparat
In the organizer's words:
Apparat is the project of Berlin-based musician, producer, and composer Sascha Ring, whose work continually opens up new sonic realms. His latest album, *A Hum Of Maybe*, marks the beginning of a new chapter, created in collaboration with his longtime partner Philipp Johann Thimm, and continues Apparat’s signature sound.
At its core is a blend of modular sound textures, complex electronics, and a distinctive, emotional vocal presence. The music deliberately inhabits an in-between space—not clearly defined, but open to development, to transitions, and to what unfolds only as one listens.
This “in-between” is a recurring motif: less about clear-cut decisions and more about states in which potential and change are simultaneously present. Sound is not conceived here as a closed system, but as an ongoing process that takes shape and evolves in the moment.
Over the years, Apparat has cultivated a special connection with his audience through compelling live shows in concert halls and at international festivals. His music reaches a global audience far beyond the traditional concert context—not least through influential placements such as the title track for the series *Dark*.
With his current tour, Apparat is now returning to the stage with a live band setup. The concerts focus on the new album in its entirety and expand upon it with selected pieces from earlier works—as a standalone live experience that deliberately distances itself from the studio and places the music in a new context.
At the New Fall Festival, this setup meets a space that supports this form of focus and sonic depth of detail, allowing the music to be experienced in all its openness.
