Interim uses in Munich's city center - Part 1

The next ARCHITECTURE AND ART Walkshop will focus on the topic of interim cultural use. Especially in Munich - one of the most expensive cities in Germany - the temporary use of vacant properties or spaces for art, culture and creative projects opens up enormous potential. This not only avoids vacancies, but also revitalizes city centres and promotes cultural projects.

The two-hour tour starts in the Neue Maxburg, a building designed by Sep Ruf, where the Sammlung Goetz has found temporary accommodation. Under the name "Sammlung Goetz /Schaufenster", it presents important items from the collection in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows in a row of stores. Karsten Löckemann, chief curator of the Sammlung Goetz, introduces the project and provides insights into the current Cindy Sherman exhibition.

The tour continues by public transport to the studio of the artist Fillin Guas, who, as part of the artist collective BROKE.TODAY, has realized projects such as "Das Neue Dings" in the former Sendlinger Tor cinema and "das Happy End Hotel".
