Clothing and disguise are essential components of Cindy Sherman's work. Between 1983 and 1994, she dedicated herself specifically to the visual language of the fashion world. Sherman's photographs by no means reproduce the ideal images of female beauty. In her guided tour, Cornelia Gockel (curator of media art) provides insights into the interplay between appropriation and deconstruction of the visual codes of fashion in Sherman's fashion series.
