From August 14 to 16, 2026, Art Bazaar will bring a diverse range of art to the Kunstbunker in Cologne

Cologne, July 14, 2026 – From August 14 to 16, 2026, the Kunstbunker K101 in Cologne-Ehrenfeld will once again become a meeting place for artists, art enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to discover contemporary art outside of traditional gallery settings. At the Art Bazaar, artists from Cologne and the surrounding region will present their work in the unique atmosphere of the former bunker.

The Art Bazaar is not intended to be a traditional art exhibition, but rather an open and diverse art market. Visitors can explore different artistic perspectives and forms of expression, engage directly with the artists, and purchase exhibited works right on the spot.

The focus is not on individual well-known names, but on the diversity of the participants. Painting, photography, illustration, sculpture, mixed media, and other art forms come together, transforming the various rooms and spaces of the Kunstbunker into a walk-through art landscape.

Direct Interaction Instead of Detached Art Appreciation

The Art Bazaar’s concept deliberately emphasizes personal encounters. The artists present their works themselves and are available to visitors for questions, conversations, and insights into their work.

“We want to create a place where art can be experienced firsthand and where the exchange between artists and the public takes center stage,” explain Krisstine Bento Monteiro and Mike “Ezekiel” Sanchez Leonardi, who co-founded the Art Bazaar.

The Art Bazaar is aimed not only at experienced art lovers but, above all, at people who have had little exposure to the art market so far. The event aims to show that access to contemporary art need not be complicated or elitist.

This low-barrier approach is also reflected in the works on offer: All participating artists are offering at least one piece for a maximum price of 50 euros. This gives even those on a tighter budget the opportunity to purchase an original work of art and support the artists directly.
