Ashnikko's songs are like portals. You're immediately transported into an over-the-top, horny, whimsical universe where emotions are dramatized, gender stereotypes are broken, and revenge takes over. While DEMIDEVIL took a more direct approach, tackling themes of sexual revolution and revenge head-on, her debut album WEEDKILLER is more allegorical, aiming for liberation and persevering through the darkness to reach the inevitable light. Since making a name for herself in the music industry with her mixtape DEMIDEVIL in 2021, Ashnikko has been considered one of the most innovative alt-pop artists working today, and the announcement of her debut album will set fans' hearts racing. The 13-track album blasts and then dismantles fears and anxieties, whether personal or bullying. Later this year, Ashnikko will hit the road with WEEDKILLER on their biggest tour yet. To celebrate the end of the DEMIDEVIL era, Ashnikko will perform in Japan next month before coming to Australia and New Zealand. Following a string of festivals this summer, the WEEDKILLER tour will take in the U.S., Europe and the U.K., including headline shows at London's Alexandra Palace, NYC's Brooklyn Mirage and Paris' Élysée Montmartre. Their live performances are notorious for Ashnikko writhing, jumping and thrashing around on stage while the audience does the same - and in recent years they have sold out tents and stages around the world.
