Program 04.Dec 2025
"Diamond ring in space" (in German) by Simon Dannhauer
Rihanna has already summed up most of what you need to know on the subject in her song "Diamonds" with the line "Shine bright like a diamond ... a diamond in the sky". The only difference is that such a claim in science requires proposals, discussions, telescopes and much more. All these things, which are hidden behind the final publication, are the focus of this lecture.
" Telescopes: Their Origins and the Universe They Revealed " (in English) by Flavia Carolina Santos Do Amaral
A journey through the origins of telescopes: how simple lenses sparked a scientific revolution and opened humanity's first window to the universe.

"Undead Galaxies" (in German) by Nikolaus Sulzenauer
From textbooks, we know images of almost perfect, highly symmetrical spiral galaxies - shining as if in neon colors. But how did these galaxies actually get their shiny form? And what can we say about the formation of their sister galaxies, the luminous, almost flawless elliptical galaxies? Research shows that the current appearance of these galactic monuments is subject to constant change. The impressive appearance of these galaxies causes a violent chain of events that takes us back to the early days of the cosmos. In this presentation, I will shed light into the catacombs of the evolution of massive galaxies, and tell of their ghostly resurrection as undead galaxies in the early universe.
"Wrath of the Wolf-Rayets " (in English) by Prachi Prajapati
This talk will take you on a thrilling voyage into the haunting final stages of massive stars---Wolf-Rayets. Everything in the grand design of Universe has a purpose---and so do these monsters, shrouded in cosmic mystery and rage. Let us discover how these ghosts of dying stars may be hurling cosmic rays our way!

Program Sept 18, 2025
"From rotation to detection - The rotational fingerprint of molecules" (in German) by Dr. Luis Bonah
The talk is about the rotational fingerprint of molecules, why it is essential for the detection of molecules in space, and how we can reconstruct it in the lab.
"Life beyond Earth" (in English) by Damian Perergina Garcia
In my pressentation I will explore about the many different forms of life that have been ignored/neglegted by astrophysicists in order to search for extratraterrestrial lifeforms, among them extremofiles here on earth that would find Mars atmosphere warm and cozy.

Program 12.Jun 2025
"From Rotation to Detection - The Rotational Fingerprint of Molecules" (in German) by Dr. Luis Bonah
The talk is about the rotational fingerprint of molecules, why it is essential for the detection of molecules in space, and how we can reconstruct it in the lab.
"Masers the original Space Lasers (or Masers, Lasers and their Creators)" (in English) by Dr. Arshia Maria Jacob
Although lasers play a vital role in our daily lives today, they were once seen as a solution in search of a problem. How did that happen? The history of the laser is a fascinating journey marked by brilliant ideas, Nobel prizes, patent disputes, and even the accidental discovery of an astronomical phenomenon. In this talk, I will guide you through this remarkable story.
