🚲 On post-colonial traces - a critical city tour through Cologne by bike

What do the Bürgerhaus Stollwerck and Cologne Zoo have in common? Bingo - this is where Cologne residents like to come together often. Less well known: Both places are still reminders of Cologne's colonialism in the cityscape today. We will explore these and other places of remembrance on two Saturday mornings (May 30 & September 19).

The three-hour tour (approx. 20 km) starts in Trude-Herr-Park and ends at the TH Köln in the Römerpark. The tour is free of charge and is open to anyone who wants to take a critical look at local history - regardless of whether you are hearing about it for the first time or have been dealing with the politics of remembrance for some time.

🚲 Tracing Postcolonial Cologne - A Critical City Tour by Bike

What do Bürgerhaus Stollwerck and Köln Zoo have in common? That's right - they're popular meeting spots for locals. But less known: Both sites still reflect traces of Cologne's colonial history in the urban landscape. On Saturday, May 30th and September 19th, we'll visit these and other places of memory during a critical three-hour bike tour (approx. 20 km).

We'll start in Trude-Herr-Park and finish at the TH Köln campus in Römerpark. The ride is free of charge and open to anyone interested in exploring local history through a postcolonial lens - whether you're just getting started or already deeply engaged in remembrance politics.
