Ausstellung Leo Wild - Campus Golzheim
In the organizer's words:
What qualities does an empty building reveal? What kind of atmosphere develops in stripped-down architectural spaces? How does our perception of an existing building change when it is unused? — The exhibition “Campus Golzheim” by Leo Wild explores these questions.
👉 In 2018, the Faculty of Architecture at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences relocated from Golzheim to the newly built campus in Derendorf. During the 2024–2025 winter semester, however, students in the PBS program revisited the university’s former location: As part of a design assignment, they explored the building’s potential for demolition, reuse, or continued use.
The photographs, which will be on view in the exhibition “Campus Golzheim” starting June 23, 2026, at the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia, were taken as part of the design assignment at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. They reveal structural and atmospheric qualities that became visible in the spaces, which were vacant at the time. The photographer, Leo Wild, is a graduate of the Department of Architecture at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and has turned this documentary photo series into an aesthetic testament.
