In October 2025, the Käthe Kollwitz Museum Cologne reopened after three years of renovation. The exhibition "Kollwitz NEU SEHEN" shows the most important drawings, prints and sculptures in a new compilation and offers insights into the artist's working methods. The focus is on her female perspective on the challenges of her time. Kollwitz's message still resonates today - her expressive power continues to have an impact in the present day.
During this individual tour, an art educator will guide us through the highlights of this current special exhibition and familiarize us with the masterpieces of Käthe Kollwitz.
Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) is one of the most important German personalities of the 20th century. The individual guided tour places the artist's life and work in context and focuses on individual themes - such as her mastery of printmaking techniques or contemporary events from the German Empire to National Socialism, which can be impressively traced through her works and autobiographical testimonies.
Anyone interested can take part in this exhibition tour. Please register using the online form (see below).
The tour starts at 14:30. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to discuss what we have seen and heard and/or explore the exhibition again on our own. The museum closes at 18:00 on this day.
