Wherever the journey takes us, before we arrive there is the risk of taking one more step. This is technically predetermined in printmaking - the "gap" between the printing block and the print. In March 2024, the Künstlerforum Bonn is combining two exhibitions on contemporary printmaking to show the breadth and topicality of this genre and to encourage communication with visitors: Mind the Gap and Truc Troc.
In the lower main rooms, the Mind the Gap exhibition presents a selection of printmaking positions that stand out for their independence, among other things. These include works by Arno Beck, Astrid Meiners-Heithausen, Jürgen Middelmann, Natalia Wehler, Yan Rong, Karl-Theo Stammer and zweiimdruck.
Truc Troc, on the other hand, forms a space for smaller printmaking works on the upper floor of the Künstlerforum Bonn. The special feature of this exhibition lies in its experimental character, as it is designed as an exchange market. This means that artists offer their works for exchange. For their part, visitors can decide what they would like to offer in return. It remains exciting to see which agreements will come about.
More than 40 artists from across the region are taking part in Truc Troc at Künstlerforum Bonn.
The exhibition is modeled on Truc Troc 2022 in Brussels.
Opening on Sunday, March 3 at 11 a.m.
