Create your own upcycled bag from used banners

In this workshop, you’ll transform old banners into a custom bag to take home. Using simple, low-tech techniques and specially designed tools, you’ll create your own unique piece—without any sewing or gluing.

You’ll learn how to creatively repurpose sturdy materials and, step by step, create a bag that’s practical, durable, and one-of-a-kind.

The Bag Workshop is a project of the Haus der Materialisierung and was developed for the German Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale.

• No prior experience required
• Materials and tools are provided
• The bag is made without sewing or gluing
• Please wear clothing that allows you to work comfortably
• The workshop will take place with a minimum of 6 participants.
