Shape and paint decorative interior pieces

In this workshop, you’ll create decorative ceramic objects without using a potter’s wheel. Using simple building and shaping techniques, you’ll craft small interior pieces. First, we’ll make a bowl, and then a mug, giving you a great set for your home.

Next, you’ll paint and decorate your piece with graphic dots, splatters, or freehand patterns. The result is a personal ceramic piece that’s playful, modern, and unique. If you’d rather not paint your ceramics, I can glaze them in white or colorful confetti.

What to expect

• Introduction to basic ceramic and building techniques
• Shaping decorative ceramic objects without a potter’s wheel
• Designing a bowl and a mug

• Support with form, surface, and design

Good to know

• No prior experience required
• Materials and tools are provided
• Please wear clothing that can get dirty
• You can pick up your fired ceramic piece in Potsdam after about 4 weeks or have it shipped to you for an additional fee
• Short fingernails aren’t a must, but they’re definitely an advantage
• The workshop will take place with a minimum of 8 participants.
