A culinary and literary journey through the most famous German wine regions
In the idyllic parish garden of St. Emmeram, Daniela Mück and Julia Schuler present six German wine regions: with their favorite regional wine, southern German delicacies from the buffet and impressive ballads. Anyone who thinks ballads are boring will soon be convinced otherwise. Ballads are a special hybrid of poetry, epic poetry and drama; in other words, they are actually artfully crafted short stories with a dramatic arc of suspense and often surprising endings - just in rhyme form. The great art is to tell a whole story in just a few pages or even just a few lines - and to do so in such a way that it immediately captivates the listener. There are no limits to the subject matter - we realize this at the latest when it is suddenly about the ichthyosaurus.
Julia Schuler has been working as a prompter at Theater Regensburg for over 20 years, where she works on and with literary texts on a daily basis. It was during this work that she discovered her own penchant for ballads. Julia has selected the texts for the wine tasting and will read them aloud. We can expect an entertaining variety of themes, stories and poets - from Brentano to Morgenstern.
Daniela Mück is a sommelier and wine is her great passion. Thanks to her WSET® Level 3 certification, she has in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of wines from all over the world.
Together, the two have visited wineries in Franconia and on the Moselle, in Rheinhessen and the Palatinate. They have been to the Rheingau and Baden and brought their favorite wines back to Regensburg. On June 15, under the apple trees in the picturesque parish garden of St. Emmeram, you can taste them for yourself.
