Band of the Week | ONEXX & Polychronis

ONEXX - The soundtrack to departure
Founded in 2019 by Sascha Grethmann (vocals & bass), Frank Herchenbach (drums) and Axel Kretschmer (vocals & guitar), Onexx quickly made it clear where they wanted to go musically: To a sound that can be equally compared to bands like Korn, Fjørt and Cane Hill, but sounds completely unique. With their fable for the American nu-metal of the early 2000s, which is almost atypical for Germany, and their love of German post-hardcore, Onexx develop a genre mix that complements their raw metal core with modern influences from rap, metalcore and post-hardcore on songs like "Sturm", "Niemandsland" and "Schwarzer Tag" and addresses profound and multi-layered themes in their lyrics.

POLYCHRONIS have been moving somewhere between punk and indie since 2019. The Wuppertal trio in
classical line-up - drums, bass, guitar - searches in the field of tension between harmony and dissonance,
abyss and optimism, they search more for questions than answers. Musically, Polychronis combine
Polychronis combine a 90s indie sound with classic punk elements and lyrics reminiscent of the
Hamburg School. Certainly not music for the masses, but perhaps that's precisely why it's so beautiful.
