The Bavarian capital has been cultivating Franco-German friendship through its city partnership with Bordeaux for over 60 years. The Initiative München Bordeaux e.V. keeps this partnership alive with regular activities and events. To mark the visit of a group of guests from the twin city, they organize a Bavarian-French soirée in the Silbersaal with theater and music.
The Compagnie des Camaïeux was founded in Munich in 1985 on the initiative of an actress from Lyon. Since then, they have staged a French-language performance from the classical repertoire every year. As part of the soirée, the one-act play La Paix chez soi (Domestic Peace) by Georges Courteline, with Hélène and François Badault, directed by Françoise Höcherl. Alice Stamataki, soprano at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, will provide great operetta melodies, accompanied by harpist Edith Fellmann.
The Well family has been a fixture on the Bavarian music scene for decades. Their trademark: Classical virtuosity is combined with folkloric passion and a good pinch of humor. With their special approach, they open up new perspectives on the classical repertoire and traditional pieces. As part of this soirée, the siblings Maria and Matthias Well, accompanied by accordionist Vladislav Cojocaru, present interpretations of works by artists such as Édith Piaf, Astor Piazzolla, Charles Aznavour, Gabriel Fauré, Fritz Kreisler, Valery Gavrilin and Johannes Brahms as Trio Wellcaru.
