Damascus - not only the capital of Syria, but also a place with thousands of years of history 📜, cultural diversity 🎭 and a deeply rooted spirit of peaceful coexistence 🕊️. We are bringing this special attitude to life to Düsseldorf on June 7, 2025! 🎉

Habibi Act cordially invites you to Bazar Damascus in the zakk beer garden 🍃 - a colorful street festival for the whole family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. A day full of encounters 🤝, stories 📖, sounds 🎶 and culinary discoveries 🍲 from the heart of a fascinating culture awaits you.

In addition to street food and specialties from the region 🍢🍉, you can expect coffee stalls ☕, handmade accessories 🧵, arts & crafts 🎨 as well as a live piercing and tattoo action 💉. "Ebrah & Tara - Needle & Frame" will also be there. A variety of DJ sets 🎧 and live acts 🎤 provide a musical atmosphere. There will be creative workshops 🖌️ for children and adults - as well as board games 🎲, family activities 👶, small exhibitions 🖼️ and lots of opportunities to chat 💬. The workshops will take place in the morning, registration is possible via Instagram @habibiact 📱.

A special item on the program is the talk "Living in two societies" 🏘️, organized and moderated by Alaa Nema 🎙️. Here we talk about the feeling of being part of German society while remaining emotionally connected to the region of origin 🌍. The focus is on questions of identity 🧠, belonging 🧩, home 🏡 and everyday life between two worlds. The talk starts at 15:00 🕒 at zakk Düsseldorf 📍.

The art workshop "Damascus as we remember it" with artist Yussra Alaswad 👩‍🎨 starts at 17:00 🕔. In this creative format, Yussra invites you to express memories, feelings and stories 🎭 about Damascus - or about home in general - in colors and shapes 🎨. Together we create small canvases 🖼️, each one a piece of memory and an individual view of a city that has shaped many. It's not about "beautiful painting", but about expression ✍️, exchange 🤲 and a living culture of remembrance 🧠. The workshop is open to all age groups 👧🧑👵, no previous experience is necessary 🚫📘, materials will be provided 🧰. Registration via Instagram 📲 is also required here.
