One of the most astonishing discoveries in astronomy is the general expansion of the universe.
The "standard model" was developed to describe the development of the cosmos, but this requires
requires two mysterious forces: "dark matter" and "dark energy". How credible
is this model? Is our understanding of gravity inadequate? Is the universe older than
older than previously assumed, as new observations from the James Webb Space Telescope suggest?
Even the "Big Bang", the beginning of space and time, is being cast into doubt. Did our universe come into being
by the collapse of an earlier universe? Or is our world even just a small part of a
much larger "multiverse"?
