Benefizkonzert - Schau hin!

Violence takes many forms and manifests in various ways. Recognizing it and, in particular, protecting children and FLINTA* individuals from it is both an individual and a societal responsibility. On September 6, a benefit concert will take place at naTo Leipzig for the organization “Frauen für Frauen e.V. Leipzig,” which works to raise awareness of and prevent violence. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations collected on the evening of the concert will go directly to the organization. For over 35 years, the organization has been fighting for equal rights and life opportunities for all people, regardless of origin, gender, sexual orientation, or other categories of difference. Through its various initiatives, the organization provides a safe space for those affected, raises awareness about gender-based structures of violence and forms of violence, and connects relevant stakeholders to build support systems.

The evening’s concert program features the Leipzig-based artists GÖRDA, ALMOST TWINS (solo), DAVID LÜBKE, KARL DIE GROßE, and ATKOV (solo). Transparency note regarding the lineup: The acts’ fees will go directly to the organization as a donation. Primarily male acts were asked to participate and get involved in this event free of charge as allies in a spirit of solidarity.

KARL DIE GROßE, a true Leipzig legend, will perform a solo set that evening. His songs showcase a deep sensitivity to language and music.

GÖRDA’s sound blends introverted indie pop with danceable grooves, and clever lyrics with atmospheric depth. In their multi-instrumental live performances, the two musicians weave vocals, electric bass, flute, synthesizer, cello, and beats into an intense interplay.

ALMOST TWINS (solo) delivers handcrafted songs that range from subtle complexity to charming simplicity—a singer-songwriter’s dream reminiscent of Erlend Øye, José Gonzáles, or This Is The Kit.

DAVID LÜBKE sings songs that celebrate new beginnings—and that offer us comfort. Completely raw, unfiltered. The singer-songwriter isn’t looking for “coolness,” but for connection. A modern vagabond who takes a sensitive and critical look at our times.

KARL DIE GROßE, a true Leipzig great, will perform a solo set that evening. Songs with a deep sensitivity for language and music.

ATKOV will also be performing a solo set. It will be nearly impossible not to get swept away by the psychedelic guitar sounds of this Leipzig-based singer-songwriter, into a world full of musical diversity and euphoria.
