At first, they were considered the wunderkinds of folk. In 1996, their debut album, *Acoustic Power*, thoroughly shook up a scene that had become somewhat stagnant at the time; the fresh breeze of their crossover blend of diverse styles and eras sparked enthusiasm and a bit of unease.

With their world beats and ethno grooves, ULMAN can count themselves among the most important pioneers of the upheaval in the world music scene over the past decade.
But they don’t care much about that.

What matters is the soul-stirring feeling, the compelling rhythm, the memorable melody, and the necessary dose of surprise. ULMAN has all of this in abundance. After things had gone quiet around the band in recent years, these accomplished musicians are reemerging from their current projects to pick up right where they left off.
