The need for contemplation is rarely as great as during the Advent season. Sometimes only a few ingredients are needed for an Advent time-out: festive Baroque music from the Bach family and the warm sound of Albrecht Mayer's oboe, for example. The solo oboist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra has been delighting audiences for many years with his intelligently composed programs. With the Berlin Baroque Soloists, Albrecht Mayer likes to do things together and also presents himself as a passionate chamber musician.
