Joseph Turner (Robert Redford), code name Condor, works as an analyst in a New York field office of the CIA. One day he returns from his lunch break to find the office vandalized and all his colleagues murdered. When he reports the incident to his superiors and narrowly escapes a trap, he realizes that those responsible come from within his own ranks. He goes into hiding with photographer Kathy (Faye Dunaway) and, with her help, embarks on a dangerous search for the masterminds and their motive.
