Big Mama Society & Majazat

The ten-piece ensemble Big Mama Society will bring its cinematic crossover project to the stage of the Ost Passage Theater on 22 May 2026. At 8 p.m., the band will present their new single "Gunga", which will be released on the X Jazz label on May 15, 2026 - a first taste of the upcoming album. The Leipzig performance is part of the collective's first tour of Germany, which brings together musicians from five countries. The ensemble sees itself as "a condition instead of a style": a state of permanent transformation that fuses jazz improvisation, Mediterranean melancholy, Latin American rhythms and pop sensibility. Big Mama Society explores themes of transformation, migration and identity in flux.
