Films by Andrea Arnold (AMERICAN HONEY) are recognizable after just a few shots, such is her unmistakable style. After a trip to America, she has returned to her home on the south-east coast of England. There she stages a magical-realistic story about the somewhat whimsical vagabond Bird - perfectly cast with Franz Rogowski - who befriends twelve-year-old Bailey and gives her support. A film that lives from impressionistic snapshots that tell of existences on the margins of society.
