Black Queer Poetry Showcase
In the organizer's words:
Voices from Vienna’s Black poetry community come together for a joint poetry performance exploring the realities and imagination of Black existence in this world. What role does this space play? What does movement look like both within and beyond those boundaries? What does it look like collectively and individually? Thoughts translated in the language center and spoken from our mouths into the ears of those who listen—a continuation of the ideas from last year’s Black Queer Poetry Showcase.
“‘Queer’ isn’t about who you’re having sex with (though that can be one aspect of it); rather, ‘queer’ is about the self that is at odds with everything around it and that must invent, create, and find a place to speak, thrive, and live.”
