netzwerk junge literatur (njl)
In the organizer's words:
We present a vibrant and interconnected scene of young Viennese authors. Through their contributions to the “Literarische Blätter,” they are part of a large network dedicated to promoting young German-language literature. Look forward to a reading featuring exciting texts by young Viennese authors—entertaining and concise!
Background: On March 1, 2025, the netzwerk junge literatur e.V. (njl) was founded. The founding members—all writers under the age of 30—set out not only to to ensure the continued existence of the literary journal “Literarische Blätter,” founded in Leipzig in 2019 (which publishes only texts by authors born after 1990), but also to foster networking among young writers throughout the German-speaking world. This is achieved by organizing readings and writing workshops. The netzwerk junge literatur e.V. directly supports emerging authors and aims to be a non-commercial platform for artistic exchange. The first reading by this ambitious association in Austria will now take place during the Vienna Cultural Summer.
