BLACKBYRD
In the organizer's words:
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young was the most important supergroup of the entire 1960s and 1970s. All members had already established significant musical careers before they came together in 1968. CSN won a Grammy in 1970 for their debut album. They went on to write countless songs, all characterized by their distinctive three-part harmonies and that unique blend of folk, rock, and country.
Since Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young stopped performing together in 2016 and David Crosby passed away in January 2023, it has become all the more important to the musicians of BlackByrd to perform the great songs of CSN and CSNY live. The audience will hear the very best of Laurel Canyon music. “Teach Your Children,” “Marrakesh Express,” as well as “Wooden Ships,” “Suite Judy Blue Eyes,” “Cathedral,” “Carry On,” and many other tracks will be performed. The setlist also includes songs from the former bands Buffalo Springfield and The Byrds, among others.
The three musicians from Thalmässing—Christine Schabdach, Peter Hauke, and Hans Seidl—capture the sound of that era by authentically recreating the three-part harmonies of their great role models. They are supported by drummer Jörg Konz, bassist Horst Neubauer, guitarist Gige Brunner, and keyboardist Gerhard Kölbl.
