The verdict on the city of Bonn is controversial: "A stroke of luck", say some (Beatrice Treydel), while others (Wolfgang Joop) stigmatize it as a "can't-do".
In its bustling history, from Roman fort to electoral residence, from post-war federal capital to today's federal city, the city of Bonn has been home to many bright minds and artists: from A for Beethoven to Z for Westerwelle.
The title Bonner Bogen is symbolic of the history and the Rhine landscape, as it refers to a district on the right bank of the Rhine between Oberkassel and Ramersdorf, where ultra-modern architecture was built on the site of a former cement factory.
The Bonner Bogen project, initiated by the Association of German Writers, aims to highlight not only Bonn's personalities, special aspects of the city and its history, but also the wealth of the local literary scene. For this book publication and reading, authors were therefore invited to submit their literary view of Bonn in poetry or short prose for the publication of the same name, "Bonner Bogen".
