Bootstour: Wirtschaft und Naturschutz
In the organizer's words:
Boat trip around Wilhelmsburg - harbor, island, perspectives
Discover Wilhelmsburg from the water and experience the port of Hamburg from a new perspective! On our boat trip, we take a critical and exciting look at the ecological and economic connections between the port economy, industry, urban development and the natural environment.
During the trip along harbor basins, industrial facilities and shoreline landscapes, we will talk about
- the Tidal Elbe ecosystem
- the economic importance of the port for Hamburg
- global flows of goods and their local impact
- climate and environmental pollution caused by shipping and industry
- Flood protection and life on the Elbe island
Between cranes, container ships and natural spaces, Wilhelmsburg is a place full of contrasts - characterized by water, work, change and resilience.
How can a port be economically strong and ecologically responsible at the same time?
Come on board, discover hidden perspectives and discuss the future of the port and the Elbe island with us.
