They are currently one of New Zealand's most popular indie exports: Borderline effortlessly conquer every audience with their palpable joie de vivre and charismatic energy and are already causing quite a stir in this country too. The four band members not only share a love of music, but have also been close friends since childhood. Lead singer Ben Glanfield, drummer Jackson Boswell, guitarist Matthew McFadden and bassist Max Harries met at elementary school in Auckland. They wrote their first songs as teenagers: when the debut single "Spinning" was released, they were just 16 years old - and immediately attracted attention and their first chart positions in New Zealand.

Over the course of the two EPs "Perfect Movie Scene" (2023) and "Chrysalis" (2025), they have continuously developed their multi-layered sound between indie rock, pop, funk and nostalgic synthesizers. The self-titled debut album announced for June 2026 now brings together all their influences and experiences of recent years. The work testifies to a band that thinks far beyond its first album cycle: with bold production, clear artistic vision and a rousing and timeless sound, Borderline deliver the indie soundtrack of the summer.

Above all, the quartet unleashes its full energy live, as the New Zealanders have already demonstrated on international stages at SXSW, The Great Escape and BIGSOUND Festival. Their chemistry with each other is as playful as it is intuitive - you can feel their long-standing friendship and pure joy of playing in every minute. With their new album in the bag, Borderline will play their first headline shows in Europe this summer and will finally bring their euphoric indie pop to Germany with four concerts!
