Book to be presented
Peter Geimer (ed.): Theory of Photography V. 1995-2022
The long-awaited anthology has finally been published! Volume V, which continues the series begun by Wolfgang Kemp and Hubertus von Amelunxen at Schirmer/Mosel Verlag, brings together and comments on the most important contributions to photographic theory of the past twenty-five years. In seven chapters, editor Peter Geimer presents the most important positions on the discourse of photography of the last 27 years, addressing questions of indexicality, the relationship between digital and analog, photography in the context of the arts, modes of use, the social and political dimension of images and the photographic archive. The event introduces the book and takes its publication as an opportunity to talk about the history, the present and the possible future of photographic theory in words and images. The main topic of discussion will be photography itself.
