Buntspecht

Buntspecht is a six-piece band from Vienna. Founded in 2016 and since then in a constant process of celebrating new musical sides. Film music for movies that don't exist, or children's songs for grown-ups, atmosphere and ballads. Everything is allowed. Everything should. Everything must! The pieces move between ecstasy and melancholy, sadness and mischievous grins, lack of perspective and utopia, affirmation of life and constantly nagging doubts. The group is known above all for the exuberant energy of their shows. Upbeat and brute, somnambulistic and astonished, mocking and dreamy, the band has created its own sound again and again in recent years - and with "Unter den Masken", it also happened to be a pandemic hit.

The fifth album by Viennese band Buntspecht was released on 10.11.2023. "An das Gestern, das nie Morgen darfte werden. Ich warte" is a blazing appeal for analog spaces and the power of the collective. Buntspecht's pop music is of a dark romanticism, a radical wild beauty, an insane intensity and artistic freedom that is unparalleled these days.

The concert is unseated. (But there are seats in the stands for early birds)
