Silent film classics with a new sound - band project from barner 16. The six musicians combine their love of music with the fascination of silent film eras long past and develop their own soundtracks to selected silent film classics. Stylistically, they go in many directions, but Krautrock influences and the joy of improvisation cannot be hidden.
Camera Obscura reaches deep into the Eastern European film box and dedicates itself to Dziga Vertov's "The Man with the Camera". This Soviet-Ukrainian experimental film follows a cameraman through the Soviet cities of Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa in 1929 and is completely without intertitles. Snapshots of the big city and the people living in it inspire Camera Obscura to create its own interpretation of the experiences of the nameless cameraman. At the same time, it is an attempt to give the "speechless" protagonists a voice through collage-like short stories.
