Capoeira Training & Musik - Senzala Cologne

Capoeira is the perfect blend of martial arts and music!

Originating as an expression of Afro-Brazilian resistance and culture, the boundaries between playful combat, dancing, acrobatics, and making music are fluid. It’s an intense workout for your overall fitness (strength and endurance), body control, flexibility, and reflexes. Last but not least, practicing in a group also strengthens your sense of hearing, sense of rhythm, and voice.

But most importantly: Capoeira is more than just fun—it evokes a deep sense of joy.

After registering by email, the first trial session for beginners is free! We’d still greatly appreciate a donation.
Anyone curious about capoeira—regardless of background, age, gender, or appearance—is always welcome to join our group training sessions. You don’t need to bring anything except workout clothes (preferably long training pants). You can train barefoot or in clean indoor shoes (preferably with rubber soles).

Training times:
Tuesdays 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM Music & Training (at the JWK, Rhöndorfer Straße 6) (No session on June 23, 2026)
Thursdays 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Music, 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM Training (in the hall of the Quaker Neighborhood Center)
Saturdays 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Music & Practice (in the basement of the Quäker, entrance by the sports field) (No session on June 27, 2026)

If the weather is nice, we may practice outside in the area around the Quäker.
