Carmen in Cologne - or when Death fell in love with Carmen

A humorous and passionate version of the opera "Carmen" freely adapted from G. Bizet - for four singers, a Cologne narrator and a virtuoso pianist.

With Mine Yücel ( Carmen), Agnes Lipka( Micaela), Thomas Heyer ( Don José), Luis Gehrmann ( Escamillo) and Christoph Schnackertz ( piano)

Carmen in Cologne as an opera snack is a reduction to the essentials of the world-famous opera by Georges Bizet. We show the fateful encounter between the soldier Don José and the irrepressible Carmen.

There is also a real bullfighter and the enchanting girl Micaëla. And Death comes into play again and again - he will hold the strings in his hands, peppered with plenty of humor, and perhaps even fall in love himself in the end....

Our ensemble sings on various stages in Europe and will accompany you through the story of Carmen in Cologne's most opulent opera house on the left bank of the Rhine. This is opera in Cologne Sülz: up close, touchable, laughable and tear-jerkingly beautiful!
