22 Bahnen, Windstärke 17 and Die Assistentin - three million books sold in three years. In her new novel 1999 Meter über dem Meer (1999 meters above sea level), Caroline Wahl tells the story of a young woman who wants to fly high,freely and immodestly.

Caroline Wahl, born in Mainz in 1995, grew up near Heidelberg and studied German language and literature in Tübingen and German literature in Berlin. Her debut novel 22 Bahnen was an outstanding success in 2023: the book received numerous awards, including the Ulla Hahn Author's Prize and the Grimmelshausen Prize. 22 Bahnen would also be the favorite book of the Independent 2023.

Caroline Wahl now lives in Kiel and will publish her fourth novel 1999 Meter über dem Meer in autumn 2026.
